Letterly MVP — Investor Summary
MVP Summary
Executive Summary
Initial surveys and interviews are used to identify the highest-intent audience. Letterly is then testing a focused MVP to validate willingness to pay for live, human communication practice through a single course: "Tell Me About Yourself." The beta launches mid-late March 2026, signal-gated by readiness.
The MVP is not the full Letterly ecosystem, not a platform rebuild, and not a replacement for the existing writing system. It is a single end-to-end use case designed for validation-first learning.
Success is measured by learning whether these audiences will pay for this experience, not by feature breadth or platform completeness. This MVP exists to reduce uncertainty around paid human practice for professional communication.
Target Market
Primary: Adult non-native English speakers working at U.S.-domiciled companies who are professionally and technically strong, but whose communication limits credibility. Secondary: Early-stage startup founders building credibility in first conversations. Both audiences have high motivation, clear stakes, and immediate need to practice.
Core Hypothesis
The target audience will pay for a hybrid experience (AI feedback + optional human practice) when it helps them deliver a strong, concise introduction.
MVP Scope
In Scope
- Single end-to-end course: "Tell Me About Yourself"
- Minimal instructional content designed only to trigger practice behavior
- AI feedback capability (even basic)
- Optional live practice session with human coach
- Simple scheduling and feedback collection
Out of Scope
- Full Letterly ecosystem or platform rebuild
- Subscription models, virtual currency, or marketplace optimization
- High-production video libraries or advanced analytics
- Parallel learning flows beyond the single course
Success Metrics
Primary: Meaningful portion of beta users from either or both audiences complete onboarding, access content, engage with AI feedback, and optionally complete at least one paid live practice session.
Secondary signals: Conversion from AI feedback to human practice, repeat purchases, minimal price resistance, feedback linking sessions to increased confidence or readiness, and clear differentiation in engagement between audience segments.
Next Steps
If validated, broader audiences, subscriptions, marketplaces, platform integration, and expanded content can be layered on in future phases. These belong to post-MVP platform investment, not the validation phase. If not validated, the learnings inform product direction.
